Carol at Carol’s Notebook is hosting this challenge dedicated to everything mystery/suspense/thriller/crime genre. I like cozy mysteries and historical fiction that centers around a mystery. I went through my NOOK and physical TBR shelves and lo and behold, I got A LOT of books that fit this genre. So to help me read down my TBR pile, I am participating in this challenge. I am taking on the Detective level (16-25 books). I am not going to do a full TBR for this challenge, but I want to get to the following:
- Death of an Avid Reader (Kate Shackleton #6) by Frances Brody
- A Study in Scarlet (Lady Sherlock #1) by Sherry Thomas
- A Curious Beginning (Veronica Speedwell #1) by Deanna Raybourn
- An Expert in Murder (Joesphine Tey #1) by Nicole Upson
- Memories and Murder (Tourist Trap #10) & Murder in Waiting (Tourist Trap #11) by Lynn Cahoon
- The Hidden Moon (The Pingkang Li Mysteries #3) by Jeannie Lin
- The Anatomist’s Wife (Lady Darby #1) by Anna Lee Huber
- Ask Me No Questions (Lady Dunbridge #1) by Shelley Noble
- This Side of Murder (Verity Kent #1) by Anna Lee Huber
This gives me room to continue a series within the same year that I started the series without having to move up a level. Taking a look at the list, there are only two that are cozy mysteries; the rest are historical mysteries that are very cozy in the approach to the crime. So my theme in 2021 is cozy murder, LOL.
I’m glad you’re joining us! I’ve enjoyed the couple I’ve read in the Lady Sherlock series.
